Gigi's Playhouse looking to build new home in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Wis. – Gigi’s Playhouse, a local Down syndrome achievement center, is raising money for its new ‘forever home’.

Gigi’s Playhouse has launched a capital campaign to raise money for its new home in Fitchburg. Currently situated on Madison’s eastside the move to Fitchburg promises to be a more centralized location for those it serves.

The playhouse is nearly a 100% volunteer and donation-based organization that offers educational and therapeutic programming for individuals with Down syndrome.

“I am completely blown away and full of gratitude because when I started, we had just over 250 families. We now have over 400 families that we’re serving, and this new space is going to allow us to reach even more people and serve them in even more impactful ways,” said Kelly Antonson, executive director of Gigi’s Playhouse.

Their goal is to raise $4 million and they have raised $2 million so far. When the new building is completed, it will double the space it currently has.

The organization plans to complete fundraising and break ground by this fall, with the new facility set to open in the fall of 2026. For more information and how to donate, click here.
