Privacy please: Jason Kelce wants to deter foot traffic at new home, will build fence

Jason Kelce might be retired, but he’s certainly keeping busy in his post-football life.

His latest project?

Building a new house with a large fence to keep fans at a safe distance.

The 7-time Pro Bowl center took to the podium at a zoning board meeting in Haverford Township on Feb. 20 to answer questions about his construction plans.

Kelce and his wife, Kylie, moved into a home in Haverford Township in 2018 and bought an adjoining property in 2020 with plans to build a home for their growing family in the Delaware County suburb less than 10 miles west of Philadelphia.

The couple has three daughters — Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 3 and Bennett, 2 — and announced in November 2024 that they are expecting their fourth daughter.

Kelce explained that he and Kylie moved into their home after their wedding in 2018 “with the idea that eventually we would upsize into a bigger house.”

When the lot next door became available, it created an opportunity to build a bigger home.

“We wanted to be in this area,” Jason said. “We like this area a lot.”

Kelce appeared before the zoning board as part of standard procedure and was one of many people to speak at the meeting. Specifically, he wants to add a fence and remove slopes in the land near the property on Coopertown Road.

Some neighbors have expressed concerns about potential runoff and flooding when the slopes are removed, according to CBS Philadelphia, but the former Eagles star said changes are needed for privacy given he and his family’s celebrity status in Pennsylvania.

“Obviously, things for my family are quite unique with the security purposes,” Jason told the board. “We’d like to deter, a little bit, the foot traffic coming in and out of the home. We are trying to put a fence that sufficiently does that while also appeals to the aesthetic of the area and that people would appreciate.”

Kelce’s younger brother, Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce, will also presumably visit the home once its completed. Travis is in a relationship with worldwide superstar Taylor Swift, which would only increase traffic in the area.

In closing, the board members asked Jason for some specific zoning clarifications, but one member couldn’t help but admit his fandom of the former football star and his “New Heights” podcast.

“I have so many questions,” he told Jason. “Maybe a future podcast episode.”

The board approved the variances under the condition that stormwater runoff management is in place to protect the Kelces’ neighbors, CBS Philadelphia reported.
