Consumer Prices Rose 0.5% in January
The Bureau of Labor Statistics just released its latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading, and it showed that consumer prices rose 0.5% from December to January. The Bureau of Labor Statistics initially reported a 0.1% decline in consumer prices from November to December. “We’re certainly down from the peak of inflation pressures last year, but we’re lingering at an elevated rate,” said Laura Rosner-Warburton, senior economist at MacroPolicy Perspectives.
