Katy area gets new build-to-rent community

Tricon said it is developing the community in phases. As of April 1, 37 homes have been completed, with the goal to deliver the entire project by summer 2026.

KATY, Texas — Blackstone affiliate Tricon Residential has opened its third Houston-area build-to-rent community, Tricon Peek Road, in partnership with HHS Residential, a division of Plano-based Highland Homes.

The 22-acre, 175-home development is located at 22851 Terrazzo Drive, off Peek Road near the southeast corner of Peek and Stockdick School roads in Harris County north of Katy.

Tricon said it is developing the community in phases. As of April 1, 37 homes have been completed, with the goal to deliver the entire project by summer 2026.

It’s most efficient to build about 10 homes per month, which is the expected pace of leasing, Tricon Residential Senior Managing Director Andy Carmody said.

“For these neighborhoods, we tend to try to build at that normal homebuilding pace and lease at the typical pace of demand,” he said.
